Moikaa

Hello to all
well here we are again. This week had some pretty notable events but I really actually just wanted to share a cool scripture that helped me this week.
Alma 34:31 Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.
As I read this scripture it spoke to me a lot about the invitation to act today. Sometimes I am too far focused on some long term goal or vision that I have that I forget to look right in front of me. I believe it is very important that we have long term goals and visions but I think it is also important that we take life a day at a time and do all we can in that day. The urgency of this scripture has helped me come to understand how salvation starts today and the effects of repentance are immediate. Well this week was a good week. We got to do some service for the branch and help get some stuff ready for the church. Seeing as we have been meeting in a school auditorium the past 8 months members are really excited about it being close to ready. We had a good time playing soccer in the rain and getting soaked riding through some ponds on our bikes. Over all 10 out of 10

Greetings

Hello all,
This week was good, things are going well even though summer seems to be drawing to a close. A lot of people here are pretty bummed with how short and the summer was but I think its nice that it finally gets dark at night and I can actually sleep. This week we had a leadership meeting in Oulu so I spent like four hours all alone on a train and that was really weird. I tried to count all the trees but I lost count after like 4 seconds. Anyways the meeting was really good and we had some great discussions about how we want to move forward with some of our goals. Our train got delayed coming back so we had to spend the night in Seinajoki. It was fun and we got to go to this sing along concert for another church in Seinajoki. It was really fun and we talked to some really nice people.
This week we had a lesson with our investigator and we talked a lot about prayer. He is really great at reading the Book of Mormon and he loves to discuss it but he struggles when it comes to praying about it. We talked about the why it is so important that we receive our testimonies through prayer because then we know that it is from God. We can talk and discuss about many things but until we gain that personal heartfelt testimony from Heavenly Father we won't know for ourselves if something is true. I am grateful for the simple role that prayer has played in my life and I am grateful we really can prayer whenever and for whatever.
There you go

Fatherhood

Well here we are again,
So as you might guess I am currently training a new missionary. His name is Elder Bartholomew (which is near impossible for Finns to pronounce) and he is from Springville. Anyways he is great and I am excited to get to work with him. I thought I was going to be teaching him a lot but I think I've already learned more from him than him from me. Anyways this week was pretty great. On Wednesday we got stuck in Seinajoki because something happened to the railway system and so they cancelled all the trains into Vaasa. So we got to be there for a little bit. This week we also had a really great lesson with one of our progressing investigators. We talked about the plan of salvation and it was a very tender lesson. I feel like a baby for using the word tender but I'm sure you get the point. We had a great discussion about the spirit and we were able to teach our investigator about how the spirit has comforted us in our own lives.
Yesterday we were talking to a man on the street and he told us about how he had no belief in God. We continued talking to him and he told us about a recent car accident he had and how he had survived a pretty messy crash. We asked him if it made him reconsider his beliefs about God and he said that it did but that it quickly went away. It made me happy for my own testimony that I have but it was also sad to see how with no testimony this man found very little comfort in the thought death. It made me very happy for what I have. But anyways that about sums up the week. thanks

Hei

Heyo, this week was pretty good, it went by fast and a decent amount happened so that is fun. We had a really great Zone conference this week and after everyone got to be interview by President Aura for the first time so that was a lot of fun. They are great and they taught us a lot so that was good. It was worth all the time we spent on the train getting there. On Friday we received transfer information and I will be staying in Vaasa. I will be getting a new missionary so I am excited about that. It should be fun I just need to get my act together. Elder McOmber is going to Kuopio which is in the East so that will be cool. We were able to visit some members and say some goodbyes throughout Saturday so that was fun.
On Sunday I gave a talk about keeping the Sabbath day holy and it was good, we meet in a school auditorium because our chapel is being remodeled so the stand is like eye level with the first three rows and it makes talking pretty awkward because you just stare at the person three feet infront of you and that is it. But anyways it was good and I enjoyed it. Well we are going to go figure out how my companion is going to transport his weight set of like 100 kilos so I better go but thanks. This is His church.
