mullä on kiire

Hey I'm sorry but we are really just out of time this week so this one is going to be really short. This week was really fast, but also so good. We had exchanges in Seinajoki and that was super fun. We tried to have a bbq but that failed but it was fun anyways. It was super fun to get to work with them and it was also over my year mark so that was cool. This week we taught our new investigator about the plan of salvation. In our last lesson we talked about the family and gave The Family A Proclamation to the World. He really liked it so we taught the plan of salvation focusing on the importance of the family. It went really well and we were super happy with the lesson. This week we were knocking doors and some man came to the window and started to sing to us. So that was pretty cool, but at the end of the song he started to yell and told us to get out. Anyways it was a good week, transfers will be this week so we will see how that goes!

aahh

Well if I am frank we are in a hurry today so this is going to be really really short. But anyways this week was good, we went to Pietarsaari and that was a lot of fun. Pietarsaari is mostly all Swedish so I really had no clue what was going on but it was a lot of fun anyways. I learned a couple of words too so that is good. We taught this heavily intoxicated man and that was pretty interesting. The amount of people that have proved to me the need for the word of wisdom really just surprises me. We also found a new investigator this week as we were knocking doors. It was super cool this man from Ethiopia let us into his house and was pretty interested about the church. We are going to go back and teach him again this week, so we are excited about that. Anyways the weather is super nice today which is a huge blessing and so we are going to go have some fun in the park. Stay strong.

Vaasa life

Well here we are again, this week was a pretty fun and a pretty big change up for the mission. We had a meet and greet with President Aura, and his wife. It was super fun, it felt like I was receiving new parents or something. Not to say I haven't forgotten the ones back home, but anyways it was really fun and they are super great. They have so many high hopes for the mission and we are all excited to get to work with them. They talked to us in Finnish at some points and it really threw everyone for a loop and so that was pretty cool. This week we did some work with the members and had a really cool coordination meeting with our branch president where we identified a couple of less active members that we all are going to focus on. We had a couple of lessons that were no shows so that was a bummer but we still got some work done. My bike broke at one point and we had to meet with people who lived pretty far out of the city so we also did a whole lot of walking. Like so much I was seriously starting to empathize with the pioneers. That is probably not fair to say but regardless my feet hurt. This week we also went on a little tour of Vanha Vaasa with someone we have been meeting with recently. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot because he knew so much about the history of Vaasa. At one point a long time ago some guy burned down the whole city of Vaasa because he feel asleep smoking his pipe. So we got to tour some of the ruins of the old church and what not. It was really cool. Well that about sums up the week in general. I love being a missionary because we get to meet people from all walks of life. I've definitely seen that this week as right before I came here to email some drunk man stopped me and asked me to look at his ripped pants. stay faithful.

Happy 4th of July!

Well it feels like a real blessing to be writing my email today on the 4th of July. I guess I have more deep rooted patriotism in me than I had previously thought. But anyways this week was a good week. We had exchanges in Kokkola this last week so it was a lot of fun to get to do some work there and to get to work with Elder Tinsley who is from my MTC group. The train schedule got pretty messed up and so it took us a long time to finally get back to Vaasa but it was fun. Oh this week I also had my first Swedish contact. Because a large amount of the people here are Swedish we run into Swedish speakers alot. Sometimes they just say the don't speak Finnish and only Swedish just to get us out of there but we just can't be stopped. Anyways it was cool but I really just introduced the church and tried to see if the man was interested. But hey I felt pretty good about it myself. This week we were also blessed to find two new investigators. They are both super cool and really just looking for something more in life. We are really excited about them and we should be meeting again with them later this week. So overall it was a pretty fun summer week and the weather was nice. It rained a decent amount and I thought that was cool cause my hair looks a lot better when it is wet. Have a great week!
